Marching Band

Director of Bands: Nicholas Gattis
Concert Band
Students who have successfully completed band at the middle school level are encouraged to continue to take band as a 8-12th grade student.  Classes meet daily with the occasional after school rehearsal.  The Bands perform regularly throughout the year in addition to participating annually at the Georgia Music Educators Association Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE).  Advanced students are encouraged to audition for Honors ensembles at the district and state level.  Other opportunities include participation at regional events such as UGA JanFest/MidFest.

Marching Band
The Dawson County Tiger Pride Marching Band is an extracurricular activity open to students in 9-12th grade as well as selected 8th grade students.  This organization is run by student leadership and performs at home and away Varsity football games, competitions, parades, and other community functions.  The Marching Band practices regularly after school in addition to summer band camp.  Attendance, commitment, discipline, and perseverance are crucial to our success.
Pep Band
Any Band student may participate in Pep Band which performs at home Varsity basketball games.
DCHS Tiger Pride Band Booster (501c3) is a parent-led group that works closely with the director helping to organize, manage, and raise funds for the Band program.  Parents are strongly encouraged to volunteer to support the band.  Sponsorship opportunities are available and donations are tax deducatble.  .
